This is one of those stories that you just have to keep watching. Like some great sci fi reads, there is lots of confusion, but it all comes around. The characters are unlikely and strange, but it really does culminate touchingly if you can just enjoy the weirdness, suspending your disbelief until it is over and you want more.
I started watching this because I thought it might be interesting, but agree with another reviewer that the vignettes did not seem appropriate. The envy episode featured a company that sells latex skins to men who want to feel and look like a woman and another story about a man who uses a wheelchair because he identifies as disabled. Neither or these really had anything to do with envy, particularly in the context of sin. People who want or feel the need to be different than they are may or may not be envious of those who are that way, but neither of these stories even mentioned that. I was disappointed by this series.
