When i went to the screening of this movie,i wasn't so excited. You know, last year there have been severals magicians movies just like "The Prestige", Neil Burger's "The Illusionist, "Next". But i noticed myself that "Death Defying Acts" is not just a simple "magic" movie. It's something "bigger", you know..the story is captivating, fairly, helped by a ligated editing work. I can't spoil you most of the story, but i'm advising you to go and see this when it's gonna be released on screen. Gillian Armstrong gives a touch of real magic directing this impressing, fascinating and thrilling movie, being helped by Guy Pearce and Catherine Zeta Jones, that are simply amazing and are "victims" of an unspeakable chemistry that in my opinion should be awarded with an Oscar. 10/10
Limited in its own kind of movie,we could easily say that No Reservation is a great movie.Of course, not Citizen Kane or Victor Victoria, but i think that it contains a lot of cute keys of reading that let him become something bigger than a simply, weak remake. Scott Hicks is a fine director, a man that really knows how cinema is made. The cinematography of this flick is simply amazing, and most amazing of everything is Catherine Zeta Jones' character,Kate.Miss Zeta Jones is a great actress, too good and overrated, and in this movie she shows her great abilities and her powerful talent in bringing on her own shoulder an entire picture. Even Aaron Eckhart,Patricia Clarckson,Abigail Breslin,Bob Balaban and Lily Rabe give great performances.
Okay..you have to know that in Italy, during the Xmas period, come out a lot of not so good movies. This year, has been released this new comedy, directed by Mr.D'Alatri.Commediasexi is not trivial;you don't see any dirty moments, but just the great pleasure of entertaining the audience. The movie is helped by a good script, and a good acting work.Bonolis and Miss Santarelli are not that great, but they're two upcoming actor.Instead, it's wonderful to see some excellent actors of Italian school like Sergio Rubini (as Mariano), the amazing-as usual-Margherita Buy,and also Stefania Rocca,Michele Placido,Rocco Papaleo...OK,this is not a masterpiece, but isn't so bad as De Sica (junior) movies...However,Commediasexi had to be more caustic against the Italian political men,bu that doesn't really matter.
