Believe it or not , my parents took me and my sister to the movie theater in 1962 to see this after seeing the trailer on TV and begging them to take us to see it. I was eleven years old and my sister was 9. What little boy would not want to see a movie with "damned " in the title when I was always getting in trouble for saying that word before this movie. Well I can say I absolutely loved it and still love it to this day. I remember Mama bringing up this movie a lot and talking about how creepy those children looked when their eyes turned white. Seemed like magic and the whole movie seemed that way to me. I actually own the movie on DVD and watch it about every five years.
Saw this movie on televion in the mid seneties and pretty much loved it. Now that I'm older and have seen it again, I really don't like it quite as much as i once did. It is a slow burn and the operative word here is "slow". Back then I had not seen anything like it with all the computers and tech stuff, but now I have seen a lot of movies with all that stuff. I really think it was ground breaking for its time and that is why so many people saw it at the movie theaters Even my younger sister who basically does not like science fiction movies went to the movie theater to see this and raved about it.
