  • A lot better than I thought it would be

I have been looking forward to checking this little movie out since it was shot in my area. I came in with very low expectations, but was actually a little surprised by the end. The story is very formulaic 80's fare, yet has a subtle charm. Richard Olak is great as Harry. The acting overall was not too bad, for being a lot of first-timers. The film is overall a little rough though and was not without it's problems. One thing that really bugged me was that the party ends before it even gets dark. What kind of party ends before night? Also it's called Sleepover Nightmare, and there is no real 'sleepover'. Kind of odd, but obviously used to get more focus on the four lead characters. Which is no big deal. The killer is nothing amazing, fairly cheesy and his 'origin' sequence really makes no sense, although some of his kills where very original. For gore hounds, it rates a little lower for the shear fact that most money shots are implied and out of camera frame. Recommended to anyone who is fans of low-budget horror looking for an easy watch.

  • A little rough around the edges Low-budget flick, but OK

I liked this movie. It's definitely rough, but there is something genuine about it. The Sativa Brothers (which I believe are Alfredo Ramos and Larry Durand, who play the Bravo Brothers in the movie), are having a lot of fun with this flick. The BTS extras on the DVD are interesting. Actually some of the deleted scenes were very good, and surprise me a little why they were not inserted in the film. Seeing that it is a fairly short feature. Danny De La Paz as Joey is good. Funny at times, and likable. I also really enjoyed Santino Hamilton as Evander. Very subtle acting style, but funny at times. He also has a great behind the scenes sequence, where Ramos (I think), tries to use his 'hollywood' power to get two extra shooting hours out of Santino, by phoning Blockbuster (where he works), to let him come in two hours late. Very funny. I rate it a 6/10, getting slightly higher marks because of the limited $11,000 budget.

  • A must watch for any amateur filmmaker

I saw this online a couple years ago and still can't forget it. If you ever get a chance to see this film, please give it a try. If you forget about the recording quality, you will be blown away. To think that this movie was made when the Linn's were in high school blows me away. It is paced well, and there is actually some decent acting. My only beefs about the movie is that it could have been changed from an Indiana Jones fan film. Maybe 'Tennessee Jed' or something.

But like I said before, I recommend this to any aspiring filmmaker. It really is a showcase of what you can do with a little planning and instead of watching TV, going out and shooting a movie with your friends.
