Switzerland has produced much better in the past. I was really looking forward to this show. The production was actually very good, and the actors were impressive too. But the more episodes I saw, the more I didn't like it. I felt there were a lot of gaps and inconsistencies and missings for any logic. Some scenes were missing or ended, leaving questions and others were unnecessarily drawn out. I don't really know what the bottom line was supposed to be. The story wasn't heartwarming, it left me more and more cold. The longer it went on, the more it reminded me of a puppet show. All in all, a big disappointment.
This series is fast-paced and incredibly funny. It takes a lot for me to find something really funny. In addition, of course, there is the Valais dialect, which gives the series additional charm. And yes, the subtitles are sometimes necessary, because it's all very fast and those who aren't really used to the Valais German will have trouble. I never would have thought that Switzerland could pull off such a series. You can hardly breathe, it's so packed and the story with all its surprises is super coherent, sometimes morbid, macabre, but hilarious and it doesn't get boring for a second. Maybe the series will be dubbed into other languages (German!), although of course something will be lost then, the Valais language is such a hit. The actors are simply stunning, top performance! Hey Switzerland: Great job!
