Compared to Hallmark-type Christmas movies this is a great holiday season film. And if I'd never seen The Bishop's Wife, I'd think it was a perfectly acceptable feel-good film. It's just a bit.... preachy for my own taste. Daft, I know, given it's literally about a preacher, but as a piece of entertainment, it's just a bit too earnest and ploddy. And although the film is obviously about the wife of the title, it felt like the story was just waiting for Whitney's next song rather than a shared endeavour for all the actors.
And I love Denzel, but he didn't get much chance to shine or entertain with his miracles.

This episode was everything I'd been hoping the series would be, but didn't manage in episodes 1&2: laugh-out-loud visual and verbal gags, genuine suspense moments, a great turn from the villain, and good use of cameo appearances. And the running joke about giant costumes really did get funnier as it went along.
I'm glad I didn't give up after being disappointed by the first two.
