Cutting to the chase, while it has its own shortcomings, MOTA cannot top BOB. Even The Pacific is much stronger than this series. I think the story, storytelling and script in particular is quite weak. While BOB and also The Pacific went deep into character development, MOTA remains shallow and uninteresting. At the end, what remains, is a fade taste of a mediocre series and I hate the fact I wasted nine hours of my life with it.
Why write a lengthy review as there isn't much in this series and not much, i.e., writing, was put into it. Therefore, that production doesn't need a 600-character review and therefore the copying and pasting.

I am a big fan of the series but two episodes into the 6th and latest season, I cannot bear to continue watching. The characters are suddenly unlikable and annoying, it is utterly boring, acting is extremely wooden and significantly different compared to the previous seasons as the overall vibe has changed drastically. Further, or therefore, dialogues are simply dumb and the new story lines opened make no sense at all. I noticed this change right away during the first minutes of episode one and lost interest in an instant. Camerawork is abysmal. I may give it another go if I find the energy, but my hopes are not high. There are too many bad series out there and it seems Cobra Kai is now one of them by ruining their legacy with such lazy screenwriting and I don't want to waste my time on them.
The previous episodes were boring already but this one is an episode just for the ambiguous side stories. But also misses that mark; quite an accomplishment, so the writing must be so bad or underdeveloped when they filmed the scenes. The chemistry among the figures, especially between Mariko and Bloddthorne is non existent. They should get rid of the Englishman, because as it stands now, he is perceived more like an extra and hasn't contributed much to move the story forward except being a Western-Placeholder being explained Japanese customs and culture at that time. Which is btw also heavily flawed and modernized to cater a Western audience.
This show is so incredibly disappointing and jaw breaking as I find myself yawning constantly.
