More and more it seems like we can't watch movies from 2000 back. This 1988 rubbish is sexist, unfunny (although it tries to make jokes all the time, no one lands) and the story is so little believable. The pace is all over the place, Kevin Klein looks like a lunatic, and Jamie Lee Curtis is sexualized all the time. There are also "bully the stuttering man" jokes which are out of place and out of date. Very weak comedy.

I couldn't reach half the movie was is a comedy but I didn't laugh once.

So now I have talk some more about how the movie sucks to fill IMDb's requirements.

Mauricio de Souza is the best children comics writer alive. Turma da Mônica (Monica's gang) stories accompanied and inspired the childhood of most children in Brazil from the 70s until nowadays. Chico Bento is one of his most loved characters.

Unfortunately, this movie didn't make him justice at all. It was also disappointing to see that one of the writers of the great humor show Choque de Cultura (Raul Checker) couldn't save this script.

Dialogues were bad, a lot of jokes that didn't land (not even the kids in the theater laughed, very cringing), characters very inconsistent which seemed to belong to different movies. Things that didn't even make sense: how can a entrepreneur who owns a speedboat have such an old truck and be so happy dressed?

A very simple story with not much going on. Some mild social criticism which wasn't able to make the movie worth a watch.

Chico Bento character was very charismatic but of course couldn't hold up the movie.

But the worst for me was the fake "caipira" accent, which was butchered by the cast from Rio de Janeiro. Aren't there actors in Goiás or Minas Gerais which could be casted?

Gave it a 5 because Chico Bento actor was really lovable (although he could only do so much with those silly lines they gave him)

These are my impressions of the show, being a Brazilian and not a big fan of Formula 1, but having watched some of Senna's races back in the days.

The production of the series is good, nice shots of cars in races, kind of gives you the feeling of being inside a F1 car.

Storyline could have been better, it seems to me it was all a bit superficial. The thing is, you don't really get to know who Senna was from this show. There were too many shots of races and little story.

Which brings us to acting and dialogues. Although you see an effort, Brazilian actors gave this telenovela-like acting, which is very annoying to be honest and took all the fun for me. The main character, especially, talks with this new carioca accent which reminds me of a child and made it very hard to deliver a genuine character.

Also very bad is the scene with reactions from family and people with the news of Senna death. Paralyzed faces with tears dropping down seems so unlikely. You would expect despair and intense reaction, astonishment and doubt. This was too fake and I blame the direction.
