  • Engaging, atmospheric mystery

Good cast, and especially atmospheric cinematography capturing a true Pacific Northwest ambiance -- if you have ever been in Portland in the rain, you know what I'm talking about. The plot is interesting, and although aspects were predictable, the underlying solution to the mystery wasn't obvious (at least to me, and I write mysteries). Disturbing to be sure, but that's the idea -- acting is good all around. Ray Liota is one of those actors who makes you wonder if he's gone as deep as he can go, or if he is about to go deeper than you thought possible of him. He continually surprises me, and that's a compliment. Christian Slater plays an ass of an FBI agent, and does it well.

  • Clever take on male/female relationships -- bold and creative.

Most impressive is the high end look and feel -- you would think the budget was 100 times larger than it was, and that the time spent making it was 6 months rather than about a week. Very professional in every way, this "short film" presages a "long career" for the director. Also, the acting is top notch -- often short films suffer from poor performances by whomever was willing to do the job for little pay. In this film, the lead roles are performed by accomplished professionals who give this project an air of commercial and artistic integrity that is based in reality, not artifice. I applaud this film, and encourage you to watch it and share it with your friends.

  • A piece of Crap, except Constabl;e is HOT HOT HOT

okay, the brilliant and talented Ms Judi Faye and I, plus our dogs of TV fame, are watching this piece of crap right now. We agree that the best line in the film is "I'm not a lady! I'm an anthropologist!" We also confirm that Barbara Constable is HOT HOT HOT. Why she isn't in more films when she is so HOT HOT HOT is a complete mystery. She is exceptionally photogenic, despite her peculiar voice (or is she dubbed?) she could have had a wonderful career in film....right now she is about to seduce room service. I hope he can satisfy her, or his tool is toast. Joe, Snake and Tom are the backup cops who rush to the aid of Max as he does his best to defend a pop star hopeful from death at the hands of Ms Constable, now possessed by the evil spirit of the South Sea queen (who, in case you are unaware, has an eel living inside her female reproductive canal, and it bites off the sex organs of the men with whom she has sex, unless they satisfy her, which, 99.9 percent of the time, they don't.)
