Tom Hanks was a good version of himself, Julia Roberts showed her usual thin acting, but PSH was outstanding. Totally believable, PSH nailed this , as usual.
I was just out of college when this all happened and was fairly unaware. What events are going on right now that I am unaware of and will find out about in a movie, in the future?
Fast moving, not too heavy-handed in moviesplaning what the war was about, who the players were, what the interest were.
Wish PSH was still with us.

Disclaimer: I am agnostic on movies, have no special attachment to either Marvel or DC comics (never read comic books), hardly ever go to the theatre to see a film (cheap, usually watch movies for 2.99 on youtube, and use speedup plug in to watch at 2x speed), and usually don't partake of R-rated films.
Other than that, I went to the theatre to see this film because I enjoyed the first DP film on youtube so much.
Refreshing anti-hero, anti-status-quo approach.
How the entire 1500 crew that was needed to produce this film made it hang together so well is sheer ..., well, art. Truly at the peak of capability.
There are almost 2 dialogues going on at once, one that follows the main trajectory, and the second dialogue that is all chatter that reflects what goes on in our heads, we that actually use filters before speaking, ha.
The campiness factor went right to 11 but never jumps the shark - I am sure that comes with much work on the film. Much care to create a really enjoyable, watchable movie. The 4th-wall breaks are all funny.
Ryan Reynolds: 1) I wonder what he ever would have done if he didn't use all this energy and creativity in film, and 2) I wonder how many people out the world miss their real calling.
Using an overweight adolescent for a superhero, unbelievable.
The only thing that disconnected my suspended disbelief was the incredible asymmetry of disaster. That usually happens in a film like this.
I get that the entire mood of the film has to be set using vulgarity and weirdness - I don't have people I know as vulgar as in the movie, so that demands more willing suspended disbelief. Harsh on the ears, much less the weirdness on the eyes.
All scenes with Leslie Uggams destroyed me - the comic creativity and imagination blows my mind. No spoilers, though.
