I am a "life enrichment" worker at a senior facility. I found the dvd at a thrift shop and decided to give it a try. We had one of our largest audiences and many staff members were drawn to it as well. It is funny, quirky, and inspiring. They initiated clapping, singing, dancing. The participation level was the best I have experienced with this group. The dinner discussion led to requests to show it again by the residents who missed it. Some residents had a bit of trouble shifting to the inserted music video clips but it was a minor issue. Requests followed that we start up our own group. Oh dear.!
I've viewed the Christmas/Shepherd pilot and the first four episodes of season one. The extensive research into the life and times of Christ results in a high level of authenticity. Accuracy was a prevailing priority. The characters 'personalities are slowly peeled in layers through the episodes. There's stellar portrayals of some, especially when placed in the appropriate environs, and will leave a residue long after the video stops, . You will want to see more. There is a reason this series is the highest crowd funded video project.
