This movie in notable for one reason only., the special effects. All practical and absolutely amazing. Other than that the film definitely shows it's age. It's is very slow paced film, it isn't funny (or is dated), and has the most abrupt ending. Save yourslef the time and just watch the transformation scenes, the rest of it does not stand the test of time. Or better yet ... watch Michael Jackson's Thriller. It has the same transformation scenes and you get dancing zombies and music. I know this is a classic but.... Yikes. John Carpenter's The Thing is better in every way but isn't a comedy. At this point though, neither is this movie.
It was enjoyable. I laughed several times. If you go in thinking it will be like the movie or the comic, you will be disappointed.
I really like the character redesigns. Clayface is just great in this version. I really like what they did with the Joker. Music is good. All and all a bit ridiculous at times and little strange, but it's fun. I'm sure not everyone is going to like it. It is more Anime, than DC.
The only major downside is that they didn't dub everything being said or bother to put up subtitles when they didn't. At some point they just stopped dubbing it entirely. I don't know if they are still adding them but after about 8 episodes, be prepared to read subtitles.
