  • We get it, white people suck...

I saw the line up for this and it was one of the most exciting things on this Xmas alongside finding Father Christmas which was a complete roaring success. So I put this on expecting something different but equally fun. We all like Guz and Morgana but this will go down as one of the worst pieces of tv I've ever watched. It was tone deaf, heartless and just bad.

So the family has no chemistry, Guz and Morgana go together like a bathtub with a toaster, they had no bond, what was worse was Guz played his one dimensional act and was making light and mocking the fact his partners mom died, it was bizarre and just unfunny.

Then there was the typical almost accepted white hate, either we can't cook, dance, anything lame is white.... Blah blah blah, lazy rubbish done by predictable comedians, watching Guz and Jamali Maddix on tv this week, their schtick is the same, bash white people and smile, but I always go back to, if it was the other way round, we'd be cancelled immediately. It's gotten ridiculous now.

Then we have to obviously have the mixed race family, we had to have the white idiot, too stupid to function in the real world character, stupid characters that are well written are brilliant, stupid for stupids sake is lazy.

Unsure how SJ got roped into this garbage, of course being a white widow of senior years, she was into drugs because that's realistic. It was so badly written and put together.

There's no wholesome warmth, no heart, no acting ability, just Guz being racist and laughing at Morgana and his "best idiot friends" dead mom whilst kids act like soulless robots and the Christmas miracle was completely ridiculous.

BBC put this and a re run of gavin and Stacey as prime Xmas eve tv.. shocking!

    0/10.

  • It's good to laugh.

It's painful reading some reviews on here because you can tell they've either not seen the film, are commenting only off a trailer or are hating with bias, I think IMDb should ban accounts that post many 1/10, there are very very few cinema releases that bad.

Comparing it to this years naked gun, I preferred the humour and delivery here because it came out as more natural and slightly less implausible, whilst I liked both films massively, this genre is hard to get right, it also hasn't much chance with this generation. Personally I'd stop tailoring anything for this generation as they are just the absolute worst, so close minded and one dimensional.

The film is funny, not swimming with Alistairs but it's well acted with a good cast, the humour is simple, sweet and silly but for an indie, this cinema was packed and majority laughed constantly. We need films like this to exist, whilst watching Wicked 2, I realised I took nothing from it as it just seemed to be a spectacle, it grabs your eyes and ears and you're engaged but you walk away thinking very little about it.

I adore British comedies with silly humour, it's a Shane the cinema run is so short, the humour is expected but I'll never understand those who watch the trailer and still go despite knowing it's not their taste. Just weird reviews. Only listen to 3/10 higher and take 10/10 with a pinch of salt.

If you like British humour, spoof/slapstick style delivery and in your face silliness you'll love this.

  • Utterly embarrassing, no quality control anymore.

I'm remiss to give anything 1/10 or even 0 but there were long stretches of this movie where I was just appalled, I don't get when something is so visibly and clearly not good why they'd not reassess and try and make some improvements.

It weirdly starts with a B movie action movie that looks awful and there's a feeling that the joke is that that's so rotten and the film will improve but it never does.

Sutherland isn't remotely endearing, what has happened to Rita? Since she lost weight she seems to be way less funny, why is that? She has nothing even close to the charismatic or funny characters she's done before.

Very little chemistry between characters, casting was so weird, plenty of better options for most the roles, that Lucien Laviscount I've seen him so much, pretty boy, but cannot act a bit, he's been utterly rubbish is everything I've seen, I'm amazed he keeps getting cast.

Plot had endless potential, a few moments of humour but with everything else being so uninteresting, you just don't care.
