There's many potentially unexpected occurrences in the movie, but even if you correctly predict the next thing, you'll enjoy watching it play out. Chloe Eastman does a great job of depicting the path from comfort to unease to fear, and Hugh Grant's performance will leave you guessing at the truth of his character. Sophie Thatcher embodies what many women might feel while in the home of a strange man. Religion might be an uncomfortable topic for some, but the movie handles it in an interesting way, keeping you on your toes. Whatever you may believe, this movie is a great watch, so long as you can stomach a little gore and the occasional jump-scare.
This is what a post-war civilization looks like. Though some of the established traditions were broken, the lack of story is realistic.
