  • She kills... and not with laughter

I sat in front of my TV for almost 2 hours, which seemed like half of a lifetime, with my eyes glazed and brain frozen. If it had lasted a couple minutes longer, I would have needed medical help. Why, oh why was this film made, instead that the money would have been given to starving orphans or animal shelters or something like that? A lot more people would have become happy.

The plot is absolutely illogical although Sandra does her best to make it even a little bit better. MC 2 is so sweet, all-Hollywood and pink like a brand new Barbie doll. Everything is completely predictable, there is nothing besides clichés. And, why the gay jokes, Hollywood? It seems like every producer was trying to make Carson The Queer Eye For The Straight Guy a part of their movie. Except that Carson is funny. In fact, with a little effort from the actors MC 2 could have been called a parody, only it was a little too pathetic.

I would not recommend MC 2 even to my worst enemy. It should be declared a mass destruction weapon and made illegal. The two stars are because I liked the first one... and because zero or negative numbers are not an option.

  • Nicole, what have you done?

I am not saying it was an awful movie. Quite an average Hollywood time-waist comedy with plot holes and famous actors who were probably VERY desperate and/or broke. Something to watch on a rainy Tuesday afternoon if you have a flu, broken phone and enough potato chips to eat crazy.

Yet, it could have been a great movie if Frank Oz had put a little more work in it and had not tried to turn the original movie into a comedy with an IQ requirement "80 max". A bit more drama and horror and a lot less Midler, Lovitz and gay jokes. After all, the main idea is great. Curse the person who had the idea of putting a drop of Police Academy into it.

Nicole Kidman plays well as always, rest of the cast is a little disappointing (and, again, cut out Lovitz and Midler!). It is bizarre how the woman who played in a Trier movie ended just a year later in something like that. Did she forget to read the whole script before saying yes?

Finally, did Frank Oz write it in a bus? The plot holes drive just mad. It would be nice if next time he read the script through BEFORE he starts making the movie. The result might be a lot less puzzling.
