I thought I'd give this a go as I do like Tony Todd. Despite being in his fare share of bad horror movies, he was a talented and underrated actor and I hoped this would be good.
It wasn't.
Although it was an interesting enough story that could have had potential, everything about this was bad! The acting, writing, and directing were just awful! I don't think it was released while Tony Todd was alive, and I bet he had hoped it never would be. His performance was hammy, over the top, and just plain weird. I get that his character was supposed to be neurotic, eccentric, and creepy, but it was a bit much.
I did read that it was incomplete and then the film was lost, and it's obvious from how it ends that there should probably be another 20 minutes of movie. As is, some elements really don't make a lot of sense.
I really don't want to give anything away so can't elaborate on that, but I wasn't fan.

I'm sure this movie is only rated as highly as it is on IMDB as Dario Argento fans who loved Inferno and Suspiria have given this a good rating because they were so happy that the trilogy was finally completed. It's more about nostalgia than this actually being a good movie.
The truth is though, that this movie is awful. It has none of the charm of older Argento films. His use of vivid colours in Inferno and Suspiria is completely lacking from this. There's nothing at all special about this movie.
I guess the worst part is Asia Argento. She is an absolutely awful actress. The only reason she has a film career is because her parents were well respected film makers. She has no talent and is painful to watch.
I hated it.

This was bad! It actually had a fairly decent cast, but everything about this was just awful. The acting was really pathetic. Patrick Bergin is a pretty decent actor, and I felt a bit embarrassed for him whilst watching this movie.
It's set in the future, but only a few years after the original as Peter is just a few years older. All of a sudden Peter is homeless living in an abandoned train. It seems more like 30 years in the future rather than maybe 5, so just doesn't make a lot of sense. The character of Jobe was replaced by a Jim Carey wannabe which I found to be just bizarre.
This comes across as more of a film for young adults. It's an action/adventure for kids, but I can't imagine kids enjoying this either.
I was hoping this would be one of those 'so bad it's kind of good' movies, but it's really not.
Don't waste your time on this one. There's nothing enjoyable about it.
