Don't be dissuaded by these negative reviews. It's a challenging, beautifully crafted film. Amazing performances all around. The cinematography is incredible. A twist on a typical comic book movie where the focus becomes the underlying theme or motivation of the character (mental illness).
Lady Gaga is phenomenal.
The use of music was ingenious. It's an internal film where the lead is forced to go because there's really no where else to go. It's a device and a smart one. It's another way to tell a story that gets closer to the emotion then you might with dialogue.
I loved it. Bravo all involved.

But I did and man...that writing was horrible. If you get to the end of Season 1 like I did, you'll be horribly disappointed. You'd expect some plot twists in a spy thriller, but nope. You'd expect a double cross, nope. You'd expect an unusual death or something that added more intrigue or depth to the plot, wrong again. Lioness defies expectations in the worst way, by being as straightforward and predictable as possible.
I literally don't know why anyone green lit this except for Taylor Sheridan's name was attached.
I really thought this show might turn somehow interesting in the last 5 episodes, but it didn't. The last episode is one of the laziest, pointless finales to a series I've ever seen.

I haven't disliked a film this much in a while. It's premise is based on Rear Window and The Conversation but in an annoyingly obvious way. It's literally a mash up of those two films "updated" for modern times (with all requisite nods to the pandemic quarantine and Alexa-like tech). All the actors were poorly used, especially the comedians Andy Daly and David Wain (why even cast them if they have nothing to do) and Rita Wilson who would be interesting to watch if the part was absolutely nothing.
The biggest problem is that it's boring. It's a boring thriller, which is the greatest crime to the genre. It's literally an hour of keyboard drama (where someone has a problem on their computer)...the worst kind of drama.
And the main character sucks. She's not interesting or likable in any way.
Basically it's a misuse of everyone's involved talent and a complete waste of time for the viewer. This might be an example of good on paper (although the script is bad too) but horrible in execution.
