Not far from me, they decided to play this classic in a small local cinema, and of course I had to watch it on the big screen. Great experience! I don't know what else I can write about the film itself. Very hard to watch, it's still pretty violent, especially considering the time it came out. Great direction by Kubrick, the role of the music as well as the invented English language that uses words that don't exist, brilliant. In some scenes, the film is practically artistic. Excellent satire and criticism of society and violence, which, unfortunately, is still very current. I love it so much. Masterpiece!
A very good cartoon for children. The entire life of Jesus Christ is shown so that you pretty much know the whole movie by heart. All the same, I enjoyed the movie, the movie was even touching at times. If I have to look for some flaws, apart from the fact that I already know the material in advance (if it's a flaw at all), it's that this is a film within a film, that is, that it starts with a story that a father tells his child. This in itself is not such a bad thing, but I'm just looking at it from a child's perspective. Maybe the introduction will be a little too long for some, to say that a real movie doesn't start right at the beginning. I watched the movie with my kids and they were blown away. Personally, it was a disadvantage that the film was dubbed, and I see that excellent and well-known actors lent their voices. I would definitely recommend the film to those who like this kind of subject matter.
It's not easy to rate a film like this because there will always be some parallels with the rest of the great Alfred's oeuvre. True, the film is not a masterpiece like we are used to, but the film itself is very good. At the beginning we have a long introduction that will probably turn off a lot of people and bother them, but if I remember correctly, Psycho also has a similar thing. Of course, I'm not comparing films. It's as if the real film starts only after about half an hour. That's why I would say that The Birds is not a horror film, it's just a tool used to tell the main story. So if you or someone else wants to watch a film that is horror as a genre, then definitely don't watch this film. There is relatively much drama and it talks about various human and family relationships. When I watched it again, I noticed that there is no music at all in this film. I am not familiar with how often this is in films.
I don't know exactly how much this film is appreciated or underestimated in filmography, but I think it is definitely worth watching because even after 60 years it looks very impressive.
