If the first part brought excellent foundations, story and characters, the sequel has upgraded all of that with spectacle. Some new characters arrive, we have relationships between them, and everyone carries their own burden. The initial group has broken into three parts. The stakes are raised and it is felt in the atmosphere. The entire film in a way prepares us for the incredible battle of Helm's Deep, which is definitely one of the best ever filmed. From the almost abnormal duration, the amount of people who participated in it, the roles we feel in the film and in this case we fear for the outcome of our heroes.
This film also looks flawless visually, from the appearance of Gollum to the climax of the aforementioned battle. Many memorable scenes I even noticed how much humor there is, only it is often subtle and not always big, loud and not shoved in our faces like in most recent films.
But this film also stopped just before the exciting ending, so the viewer has to be patient a little longer to wait for the end of this huge film trilogy.

I think it's hard to explain to someone younger how big a movie this was when it first came out. A project that will probably never be repeated again because the entire trilogy is actually one big movie that Peter Jackson divided into three parts.
Great source material made from the inimitable books of the great Tolkien. Every detail is perfect at the highest level. The source material, the director, all the actors and casting, filmed in New Zealand, special effects, music in the film,... Absolutely everything is perfect! I personally watched every film in the trilogy in the cinema, it was a special experience to experience a film like this for the first time and on the big screen. Of course, I watched it again several times later, but you never forget the first time. After the end of the film that left me in disbelief, there was a year-long wait until the second part was released. I have to pay tribute to the first film for having the perfect setup for the entire story and characters, rarely does a film in history have so many characters that are important and each has their own background, personality and time spent on screen. The film has aged incredibly well, it still looks beautiful. Everything that doesn't exist in the real world, from hobbits, orcs and various monsters, looks real in the movie.
Because of all this, I have to admit that this is one of the best movies I've ever seen and that we should appreciate and preserve such things in life.

Not far from me, they decided to play this classic in a small local cinema, and of course I had to watch it on the big screen. Great experience! I don't know what else I can write about the film itself. Very hard to watch, it's still pretty violent, especially considering the time it came out. Great direction by Kubrick, the role of the music as well as the invented English language that uses words that don't exist, brilliant. In some scenes, the film is practically artistic. Excellent satire and criticism of society and violence, which, unfortunately, is still very current. I love it so much. Masterpiece!
