This was not Hallmark's best. Dare I say, it was its top 10 worst. First, the makeup artist chose to give all the women dark smokey eyes, with a dreaded wing eyeliner. It managed to make the mother look older and tired. I mean her WHOLE eyelid was black. Come on! The makeup artist managed to give the daughter turned down eyes which in turn made her look sad all the time. I love Wes Brown and his comedic timing is superb, but how y'all managed to make him boring is a special kind of talent. They had no absolutely chemistry to me. I couldnt buy into their story. The storyline did not do it for me either. This was snoozefest.

I'm not sure why everyone is giving this such a low rating. The show is pretty good. No, it's not like the original and it shouldn't be. It's a SPIN-OFF. Everyone seems to forget that the original Suits didn't hit it out of the park it's first season either. If I recall, it really didn't catch its stride until around season 2 or 3. Slowly, but surely, we're catching the backstory of each character. If you were expecting a repeat of the original, that's on you, but I'm enjoying the interaction of each character and am really anticipating the story of Erica and Rick. I say, give it a shot and stop expecting a remake. This is a whole new Suits (LA).

Tamera's acting was not so good in this movie. For someone playing the mother to a child she'd adopted at 2, she talked to her like she was the babysitter hired to watch a new kid for the day/night. It was awkward. The girl was, what? 10? She talked to her like she was 5. I LOVE Carlo Marks and will watch ANYTHING he's in, but he and Tamera had absolutely zero chemistry. Which has to be her doing, because everything I've seen him in, he's had some kind of spark between him and the main female lead.

I really wanted to like this movie because it represents my household. My daughter, growing up as a mixed child, never saw HER family represented on the Hallmark Channel. Majority of their couples and and/or families are very homogeneous. This movie was a let down.
