  • Awful Waste of Time

This movie had a descent premise, but boy, did it not deliver.

The acting is terrible, the plot is all over the place, and most of the "twists" are easy enough to guess.

By the time the few details that I did not guess were revealed, I no longer cared.

The best part of this movie is the jump scare in the beginning with that hand reaching out over the desk.

That hand leads you to believe this will be a much better movie than it is.

Even the ambiguous time period ( I honestly didn't even realize it wasn't current til I noticed the men were wearing hats with their suits) this movie seems to be set in just added to the over all muddled feel of it.

    Definitely skip this one!

  • Pointless

This movie was nowhere near what I thought it would be. The whole thing is ridiculous, and not in a fun way. If the drive in was still a functioning drive in, why not hitch a ride with the people that got to leave?? Or was literally everyone who came to the drive in forced to stay? Why?? Why would the government want to have to take care of and babysit people who otherwise had homes?? (Jimmy was neither a criminal nor homeless) If it was all about cleaning up the streets, then why weren't the "car boys" being rounded up forced to stay? Like another reviewer mentioned, why did everyone but Jimmy roll over so easily? Very unrealistic. I guess the Post Apocalyptic Mad Max setting was supposed explain away anything that didn't make sense. Lazy writing aside, most of the characters were unlikable, the girlfriend was a complete airhead, the racism storyline came out of absolutely nowhere, and even the visuals weren't as good as they could have been. The supporting characters were dull, with the actually cool looking people left in the background. This movie really could have done with a sympathetic character or two amongst the long time drive in "inmates". And of course the acting was pretty bad, but i expected (and can often overlook, if the movie is entertaining enough ) that. What annoys me most is, WHO Is that on the cover of the movie??? Not a single character looked like that. I kept waiting for him to show up, as some kind of helpful weirdo type character, or maybe even some sort of ultimate villain or something. I've been looking for this movie for years and was delighted to find io on Tubi, now I'm very disappointed. I shoulda just quit while I was ahead, with Killer Klowns From Outer Space - now THAT was fun!

  • Uneven Film

The pacing of this movie was much too slow (it takes a full 3 minutes just to start), and, aside from the initial meeting at the party, you can pretty much skip ahead to thirty minutes in without missing anything important. However it isn't until halfway through that things get more interesting. Vlad's old nemesis livens up an otherwise plodding storyline.

Special effects wise, some of the scenes are quite gruesome, while others are cheesy. The monster-like vampire design is unappealing and adds nothing to the story. Indeed, all the mysterious vampire attack scenes feel like they are from a different movie all together. The castle facade looks horrible by day light, and there being only one such scene, you get the idea they didn't realize that till it was too late.

The acting is also uneven, sometimes cheesy and overdone, sometimes compelling. (The actress playing Cici did evil rather well) The investigators/cops were completely pointless, doing little more than being scene filler.

The ending is much to melodramatic.

That being said, I don't think it's a bad movie, but do yourself a favour and multi task while it's on!

  • Was so good at first, what happened??

The first 7 episodes of this show were great! It was nice seeing Sally Field in a show again, and I didn't realize how much I'd missed Andre 3000. The diversity of the cast was nice, the plot seemed a little out there but in a fun and interesting way. Unfortunately by episode 8 things start to slide, episode 9 does a poor job of wrapping anything up, and episode 10 is self indulgent, pretentious nonsense best left unwatched. Seriously, if you haven't seen it yet, don't bother, it adds nothing to the show and is not the feel-good, uplifting ending they seemed to think it was going to be. Disappointed.

  • Premise had promise...

This movie was not horrible, but was no where near as good as it could have been.

The settings and costumes were dull, and the actors had zero chemistry, with the exception of a woefully underused Irene Ryan. Even the weirdo sidekick , normally my absolute favourite type of character, did nothing to save this movie. Most of the plot points also left something to be desired. Owen refusing to ever actually write anything was not only not believable, it was also not funny. The marriage was completely nonsensical, and shifted gears from badly done screwball comedy to badly done romantic drama.

As others have said, it all just dragged on from there.

  • Really had to slog through this one

I had to skip bits to make this watchable. Neither the characters nor the actors were compelling enough to counter balance the abysmal pacing. Even the normally entertaining Milla Jovovich couldn't save this dud. The world that it's set in isn't properly explained or explored, and the plot points are either horribly predictable or way too far out of left field to be interesting or logical. The filming seems off as well, with bad lighting in parts. Definitely give this one a miss!

  • Skip this one if you get aggravated easily by jerks not getting their's

The acting was decent enough, but the villains were much too hateful, and got away with too much for far too long, had it been any longer I would have stopped watching. There also wasn't nearly enough Tom Weston-Jones in it, and he was the only reason i was watching it in the first place.

  • What a strange movie!

I would not have thought I would enjoy an hour straight of people shooting at each other, but I did! It was engaging the whole time, I was never bored. My only real problem was the lighting was so dark, and everyone was so grubby from crawling around (and being shot) it was a little hard to tell who was who and what was going on. Well, that and the New York (New Jersey??) accents were really forced.

Would have been better if the husbands weren't so goofy. I found myself hoping they really would divorce them! Still, a funny enough movie, worth a watch.

Good acting, good pacing, unique storyline, and a score that complimented the movie. Offbeat without being pretentious or boring. Very well done!

  • Disappointing

It looked really good from the commercials. But having actually watched it now, it felt like it dragged on way too long, and the plot was all over the place. The acting and special effects were good though.

  • Big disappointment

Was really looking forward to this, it has great actors in it, but it was a total let down. The storyline meandered around all over the place, and plot lines and relationships were never fully explored. It was advertised as a comedy but the only scenes that a got a laugh out of me was whenever Harley knocked Abigail over. The ending was pure pretentious Oscar Movie ridiculousness. And I agree completely with everyone about the horrid soundtrack, very grating. Pointless waste of good actors, scenery and costumes. 😞
