Continuing my plan to watch every George Clooney movie in order, I come to the infamous Return of The Killer Tomato's from 1987
I think you need to be in the right frame of mind for a movie like this, it's a B movie, that spoofs B movie horror movies. It does have some amusing moments (mostly revolving around sex), but it's not what I'd call funny
In the opening credits, it says it was developed and created by David Geffen, Steven Spielberg. Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall and John Hughes and they are listed as Executive Producers. And they get a Special Thanks credit in the end credits
Clooney, again does not have a great deal of screen time in this, but he is in it a fair bit and it's a lot more than Return To Killer High. He plays the suave ladies man, who is roommates, with the nephew, of the hero from the first movie. He is the best thing in the movie aside from the song Big Breasted Girls Go To The Beach & Take Their Tops off lol
Karen Mistal was cute enough as Tara
The full movie is currently on YouTube if anyone wants to watch.

Continuing my plan to watch every George Clooney's movie in order, I come to his first theatrical movie, 1987's horror/comedy Return To Horror High.
This has the same plot as one of the Scream sequels (I forget which one) in which a move is being made about a series of real life murders, years earlier, and murders start to happen again.
This was kind of hard to follow, due to its nonlinear storyline. It has some of the worst acting I have ever seen, has an inconsistent tone, is neither scary, nor funny, the dialogue is pathetic and the twists are predictable, yet strangely, I didn't hate it.
Clooney does not have a lot of screen time in this, one. It was nice to see Alex Rocco, here, though.
There is some nudity (as all good 80's horror movies should have) in a strange locker room scene.

After a recent thread, I decided George Clooney's movie would be the subject of my next filmography review
Up first is 1986's Combat Academy.
I already owned this one on dvd, as I have a real soft spot for it. According to IMDB this is a tv movie, but I rented this on VHS around 1987/88. I know I was still in Junior School.
Despite Kieth David (Jaws 2 and Christine) and Wallace Langham both being too old to be playing High School students (David was 25 and Langham was a young looking 20 years old) I really like them, here. They both play their roles well. Dana Hill (National Lampoon's European Vacation) and Tina Caspary play their respective love interests well enough. Caspry would film the pilot episode of Married With Children, but would be replaced by Christina Applegate.
I like Clooney in this, you'd have never guessed this was his first movie.
It's well directed by Neal Israel (Batchelor Party) who also wrote all of the Police Academy movies and Look Who Is Talking Too, so you know what type of humour you are getting here.
It has some awful ADR and is predictable, but it's a fun movie that always makes me smile. I like it.
Jamie Farr, Sherman Hemsley, John Ratzenberger, Richard Moll and Bernie Kopell all have small roles.
