Saw this film yesterday. It's not for everyone, but if you're a Neil Young fan it's worth it. There are scenes on the bus traveling between gigs that captures the uneventfulness of road trips. It includes the arrival, prep, and show of 4 venues (is it 3?). I actually attended one concert on this tour at the Ford Theater across from the Hollywood Bowl. All I can say is that it was totally enjoyable. Daryl Hannah, his wife and director/cinematographer is only briefly viewed in 3 sequences in the bus (but it's a truly brief appearance). The concert performances with Neil strolling on stage talking about being nervous is classic Neil and for fans of his music and his persona will be love the insights.
There problems, it's flawed, but I still enjoyed. It's easy to sit back and criticize an artistic endeavor.
The characters are excellently played by a slate of new actors. My only problem is in any sequel there's specter of familiar territory.
With that said I was especially thrilled by the overall look of the film. Just the right light to give a hint of the creatures.
I was slightly disappointed in the CGI segment. It sticks out like a stain on your crisp white linen shirt.
But I quibble, it's an Alien movie! I'm all for that. I do want to call out the android. Excellent actor. When you see it you'll understand what I mean.

I agree with the handful of good reviews. The film works even though the outcome is predictable, but the ending has an interesting twist. The pace is intentionally slow, but the pace adds to the suspense.
I was disappointed with the ending but the end makes sense.
Liked the mystery surrounding "White River" and how it's used.
The actors are all good. Abbie Cornish is especially good, but every time I see her I like her. Surprised to see Eddie Marsden and Anthony Hopkins. Both are outstanding actors, especially Marsden, even though their roles are minor.
I would recommend it to anyone into murder mysteries.
