Sugarcane. Wow. This movie really gets under your skin. It's very creepy and the tone is very well set. Michael Mau is fantastic as Arthur the antagonist. It draws from dark real themes and can be very intense but that's exactly as a horror movie should be. The bunny mask is also quite terrifying and I was very freaked out from beginning to end. The film deals with the topics very well and as much as it has gore, it's not done in a distasteful way at all and is all relevant to the story. I think everyone should be watching this. A definite one to watch for horror in 2025. Great job, highly recommend.
Imagine Kubrick had a child with Skinamarink and you will be presented by this. Absolute nightmare fuel on the best way possible.
The movie does a great job of taking you back to your childhood.
That absolute dreaded fear of the dark where you couldn't tell if the dark shapes on the room were actually scary monsters. It makes you feel like you are a kid again and it's actually frightening.
The special effects and make up are excellent on this film.
The editing is wonderful and the actors also do a fantastic job.
I would highly recommend everyone go to watch this if you want to watch a decent film.

I'm a huge horror fan and this made me so uncomfortable that I genuinely had to leave the cinema half way through the movie. I'm pleased to say that I did give it another chance as I knew it would be great. The second time going in I thoroughly enjoyed it and it kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Alexander Skarsgard is fantastic in this film and is not getting enough recognition at all. I felt so sorry for him at the beginning and it was so sad to see what he was becoming throughout the movie. Mia Goth as always is a star and you can't help but love and hate her at the same time! The kid absolutely terrified me, I will have nightmares about that child. The overall tone of the movie is incredibly unnerving and very arthouse style so if you don't like those kind of movies avoid at all costs. Very violent, very explicit and very uncomfortable to watch. A great horror movie. I rest my case. Solid 8/10.
