  • Lois n' Clark............

As a comic book fan, I had my doubts about this show. The first (2 1/2) seasons disputed my doubts, but the latter part of the 3rd season became a parody and Lois n' Clark became a worn-out franchise. When 'Professor Fat Head' is a villain, that's when I was glad to receive a free video tape of the 4th season! The pilot was adorable, funny and a tender tribute to the writings to the ORIGINAL authors of the legendary comic book. As soon as the TV writers (their names draw a blank, probably a mental blank due to the sub par writing) got their mitts onto the show, it had went downhill.

Granted, Christopher Reeve's Clark Kent was wooden, but his Superman was superior to Dean Cain's. Dean's Supes, had Valvoline hair and basically glared while crossing his arms. Margot Kidder's Lois Lane was a more solid character than Teri Hatcher's. During the 1st season, Teri Hatcher's Lois Lane was a shrilly, mean-spirited harpy. Kidder's version was more businesslike, stalwart and solid! But as the show progressed, Teri's Lois became funnier, but at the height of popular series, she became alarmingly thin.

As far as the characters, the only ones that stick out were Lance Davies' Tempus, who was witty, evil and sexy. He was the perfect foil for Dean Cain's youthful, cute, corny and naive version. But the star, IMHO, was John Shea's Lex Luthor and his faithful valet, Nigel. For the BEST of this series, rent or buy the 1st, 2nd, and the 1st half of Season 3!

  • Bleagh!

It was the worst 1 and 45 mins. of my life. This movie ranks just below Futuresport, Final Encounter and Militia. Let's just hope Clubhouse keeps him from making anymore turkeys such as this movie. I wouldn't recommend this moving to someone that I hated! The plot had more holes than Swiss cheese. First he's walking around in a cast, now he's not. He can jump through fire, leap over cars but he can still get around. Yeah right.

I too, do not understand the positive reviews of this movie. It was just full of lousy writing, lousy editing, and lousy acting. Dean Cain tries to summon up enough enthusiasm for this lousy movie, but deep down, I think he's seeing the paycheck at the end of the tunnel.

  • It's OK, if you're a Dean Cain fan

I've watched about 3 episodes of this show, and too much emphasis is being placed on the kid. How much do 16-yr. olds know about the fast-paced world of sports? This is too family-friendly, I wish this would be on cable TV, to show the REAL underbelly of baseball, especially the fame, potential for substance abuse, the bad behavior, etc. For example, could you see a 16-yr. old batboy take life lessons from Darryl Strawberry or Dwight Gooden? Not hardly!

Clubhouse soft sells baseball trials and tribulations and turns it into this softball, cushy, feel-good family show. Dean Cain made a another career boo-boo, when he starred in this show. Maybe if he made peace with Teri Hatcher, maybe he could have a spot on the MORE successful "Desperate Housewives".
