  • Hopefully Gary Oldman's last stinker

I saw this movie only because Gary Oldman was in it. And once again he was great. Too bad he wasn't in the movie as much as he needed to be. The story is an Ex-Cop is looking for his sister who has entered a life of Sin, hence the title of the movie. The title is the basic theme, every character has done something bad that they either regret or embrace. While the cast wasn't bad, it was most likely just the story and the editing. I have to say this movie had some of the worst editing I have ever seen in a movie. It's almost like they spent all their money on the cast, the film, and the sets. And they couldn't afford much for music and editing. Gary Oldman is still great, but because this movie was so boring, I have to say this is his worst movie. Yes, even worse than Nobody's Baby. If you're a Gary Oldman fan, then you may have to see it. But other than that, it's not even worth renting.

  • One of the Best

I saw American Psycho 4 times at the theaters. Few movies make it in to my 4 timers. There are some people out there that go and see movies 10 times or a hundred times, but that's a waste of money, just buy it when it's released for home systems! This movie is about Patrick Bateman, a rich, good looking, yuppie with a secure job, and a perfect life. Unfortunately Patrick is completely mad. This film based on the book American Psycho was a breath of fresh air when it was released. There were a lot of movies coming out that just seemed like products, and really had no substance. Although a lot of people didn't understand the movie, and expected something much different. What you need to understand is this movie is a dark comedy, and the things in the movie are not to be taken seriously. I even got scolded for laughing at parts while in the theater. The only thing that could ruin a great movie like this is if you made a sequel...oh, they did that. One of the great things about this movie is you can talk to people about what you think happened, whether he dreams everything, or it really happened. American Psycho 2, which is not written by the Author who wrote American Psycho the book, pretty much just shoved their opinion of what happened. So if you are going to see part 1, there is no need to see part 2. I can watch this movie over and over and never get sick of it.

  • Nothing more than greatness

I actually read the book Fight Club before I saw the movie. I actually read it at a book store when it had recently been released. So by the time the movie had come out I forgot I read it. This movie is so great that it is even better than the book. It works for so many kinds of people also: smart people, dumb people, and dumb people who want other people to think they're smart. Fight Club is most definitely a guy movie. It deals with acceptance, and male bonding, and testosterone, and loneliness. It follows an unnamed character (Edward Norton) through some big changes in his life. In the movie they never say his name, and in the book he didn't have a name. So for those of you who call him "Jack" you are wrong. He becomes friends with an outrageous Tyler Durdan (Brad Pitt). I don't want to say too much about it for people who may have not seen it. But it's smart, and entertaining, and definitely leaves plenty of room for conversations once the movie is over. It's a must see for any movie lover, even the ones who are idiots and don't like narrative voice overs. This is one of the few movies I actually saw in the theater 4 times.
