I agree with the other reviewer of this episode who thought something went wrong with the series in the episode titled Unplugged. The first 7 episodes were amusing and then all of a sudden this one really fell flat. for me there were zero laughs from a ridiculous scrip. I will watch a few more episodes and hope they improve. The acting was OK- Ellen Barkin is always in character as the NaNa - but Justin Bartha just doesn't convince. NeNe Leakes is so funny in this series that she deserves a show of her own. Andrew Rannells is getting better as the series goes along. I think a big problem for the show is comparisons to Modern Family which has superior acting and scripts.
I agree with the only other posted review of this film- IT IS ONE OF THE WORST GAY-THEMED FILMS ever made - if not one of the worst wastes of video tape ever conceived in the history of film. The acting is abysmal- unbelievably amateurish. The film itself has no narrative - no beginning, middle or end. I don't know what is more depressing- the depiction of Sudbury as a bleak mining town or the depiction of the relationships in the film. I lived in Sudbury in the 1970's when people were escaping to Toronto or Alberta- but things have changed a lot in the last 35 years- I found the city all grown up when I returned to visit. People can be miserable in Toronto, New York or Butt-f@@k Iraq - or happy is Sudbury, Ontario.
I agree with the two people who posted positive reviews about this small film. The small budget is obvious and the acting is about on par with a primary school play-let (especially the younger lead and the main character's daddy). These 2 negatives aside, there is a lot left in this film to enjoy: the May/December romance, the non-stereotypical gays, the fluffy ending and the realization that there are gays in the state of Texas and not just hateful bible spewing heteros. Basically I bought the tape because of the cover showing 2 guys kissing and the cute little bunny and I was not disappointed. I rated it 6/10 and am looking forward to other films by this director.
