This is a wonderful family movie which looks back at the 1960's civil rights struggle. Brian Wimmer is excellent as the son searching for a connection to his mother who lost her life (as a white woman) in the struggle. He also learns about the struggle itself, and how it affected so many lives, including the innocent, the involved, and the non-connected. He also learns about himself in his journey to find out why his mother was involved, why she put this effort ahead of her family even though it cost her life. This is worth watching by all Americans, especially the generation born after that decade. It is important to understand how far we have come as a nation, and yet how far we still need to go for the civil rights of all Americans.
