Yes, I watched Looney Tunes as a kid. But I am no longer a kid.
I think so many people are looking at this with nostalgia tinted glasses and are glad that it was 2D animation. I looked at it as just a story, and judged it on those terms.
I was constantly frustrated by the dumb writing. Daffy was insufferable, and did stupid things for no reason. They got out of situations out of sheer luck, or the thing they need just appearing at the right time (even out of thin air).
I laughed once or twice, but it wasn't enough to counterbalance the dumb plot points full of things that make zero sense and would never happen. I don't need it to be high brow and 100% scientifically accurate, but come on. Don't be this dumb.
From a writing perspective, it's fitting for pre-schoolers who won't question any of it and are just happy to see cartoons on screen. For adults, unless you're just really happy to see 2D animation being made again, I don't know how you can dumb your brain down enough to watch this.
There's a gag where an audience member just gets up and walks out and says he doesn't know who green-lit this garbage. That's how I felt the whole time, but kept holding out hope that it would get better (based on all the good reviews). It didn't, and I feel like I wasted all that time.
I REALLY hope Coyote vs Acme isn't like this.

First off I'll say that I really enjoyed the game, and when I heard they were doing a movie adaptation I was looking forward to it. When I saw the trailer though I realized that they were going in a different direction than just rehashing the story of the game.
In retrospect I think that makes sense because if you've played the game, which is very cinematic, then you've already experienced the story and know the big twist etc, so it wouldn't land as well if they just redid that.
So I went in just expecting a loose connection to the game and I was not disappointed. There were good horror elements (gore, spooky setting, some body horror, creative kills, funny kills etc.) and overall as a horror fan, I enjoyed the movie.
The characters were just OK; no one was really that memorable. The character played by Peter Stormaire was the most interesting one, and he provides a connection to the game. At the end you also see another connection to the game, showing it to be in the same universe as the filmmakers already stated.
If you view this as a standalone horror movie just taking place in the same universe as the game, then you have a better chance of enjoying it.

I had no idea many of the things that this documentary shows were happening. I think many people wold do the same.
That is why this needs to be seen by more people. There are forces at work that want to remain undetected and do their work behind the scenes, but this doc exposes some of what's happening, and lets you know the plight of many people around the world suffering because of wealthy and powerful people trying to take advantage of them and their resources.
This is exactly the type of documentary I used to watch more of about 10 or 15 years ago, before many of them became political or had an obvious political agenda. This is more about showing you something that's happening in the world so you can educate yourself and do something about it. I'm glad I watched it.
