  • Redefining the horror genre in bollywood.

Tumbbad has set a new benchmark for bollywood horror movies. Everything in this film be it direction, cinematography, story or music is mere perfect. Hats-off to the writer for writing an original story with such conviction and to the director for brilliantly executing that story. A must watch.

  • Now there shall be justice.

I had high hopes from this film since i saw the trailer and i wasn't disappointed at all. I saw this film on the first day of it's release and there are very less shows and even lesser people who wants to watch this film. And this is because another hindi film (veere di wedding) was released with this one. Unlike veere di wedding, bhavesh joshi was not promoted on a large scale and that is one of the reason's why people didn't knew much about it and maybe they thought that it might be some kind of low budget substandard film and it's better to avoid it. But trust me bhavesh joshi is relatable and believing, because it's what's happening all around us.

In my opinion, bhavesh joshi has a lot to offer in terms of story telling, action, including a bit of humor and one of the best chase sequences i have seen in bollywood movies. It's not a typical bollywood masala entertainer, rather it is an underrated gem which needs to be appreciated.

I would highly recommend you to watch this one because it helps the filmmakers to create more unique films and will also improve the standard of Indian cinema.

  • I will try to remember this one.

This could have been better but still it's a good story (not convincing enough though) with a few jump scares.

  • Bollywood should learn something from this.

Typical Bollywood film makers who makes typical/ordinary movies should learn something from this and here's why:

    • Anyone can relate to this movie, especially here in India as it deals with the most common problems we middle class Indians have to face.
    • It makes sense and it connects with you.
    • No forced humor. comedy in this film is a plus point. It's natural and will make you laugh.
    • You wont get bored at any given point in this movie. It will keep you hooked.
    • Strong and natural performances by all the actors and the direction is also done very well.

Yes, the movie is quite lengthy but the story is quite simple, the characters are relatable, the romance is cute, and the movie is worth watching.

  • Absolutely No Reason to watch this movie.

At the beginning of the film, it is explained that in a lot of movies a lot of things happens for no reason and even in our daily lives a lot of things happens for no reason and that the life itself has no reason. A Tyre which has psionic powers keeps blowing people's head's off for no reason. what kind of a story is it.?

Everything in this movie happens for no reason. And that's why there is absolutely no reason to watch this movie.

  • 109 minutes of pure cleavage show and nothing else.

I don't know what the writer and director were tying to create, maybe trying to re-create another dirty picture or hunter or something similar. first half of the movie is a bit funny but the overall direction, cinematography and the script lacks almost everything that the movie needed to be a hit. The best part in the movie was the climax as i didn't even realize that it is the ending of the movie. I was watching the movie and thought there would be more to it and then suddenly you see the end credits and i was shocked by the way it ended.

Trust me people and don't watch this movie as it's an waste of your precious time and money. I wasted 100 bucks on this one.

  • Makes no sense at all.

I have accepted the fact that apart from Pyaar ka Punchnama, no other movies of Luv Ranjan is decent or good enough to watch. I love pyar ka punchnama, but this movie makes no sense at all and here's why:
    • unnecessary songs.
    • slow paced for a movie that has no plot twists or much of story telling.
    • nothing in the movie could make me laugh, given the comedy genre.
    • Bromance.? what in the world does that even mean.
    • Predictable.
    • Completely illogical.
    • Bizarre way of showcasing the friendship between the two male protagonists.
And i could go on and on. To sum it all up, the movie is all about a friend who is trying to prove an unnecessary point because of an illogical story in a senseless movie. you get it.? hell even i don't get it.:)

  • Not a beautiful movie.

I saw this movie because of my love for horror genre and i thought why not, lets watch it. And i was disappointed as except for the last few minutes in the film, there is nothing to watch or rather i should say nothing that would keep you from being disinterested in the movie. Even in the last minutes of the film, i didn't find anything interesting or unusual horror or any thrill in it.

The story in the beginning says that it is inspired by true events, which is also incorrect as i checked the certification at the end of the film which says it is a work of fiction. Pure drama and a bit of thrill in the end. But apart from that, nothing else to look for in the movie. It would be an beautiful island but certainly not a beautiful film.

  • Get ready to watch this one.

I went to the theater to watch it as it was an spielberg movie and was in 3D. otherwise i would have watched it on dvd if this was not the case. I watched it with my friend who didn't know anything about this movie and we were not disappointed, in fact we enjoyed it a lot.

This one is not the spielberg's best but is a really good one time watch for entertainment and better if you watched it in theater instead of watching it on dvd. The movie has all the elements to keep you engaged and entertained but there is nothing as such in the movie that is going to stay with you for at least sometime. Yes it lacks that spielberg charm from other movies but is still worth watching.

  • Three cheers for this one.

A bit disappointed with how the movie ends, but it conveys the message through strong performances and a well written screenplay.
