I've been quite sad that Netflix cancelled Norsemen as it was exactly the type of comedy I liked: witty, but pretending to be dumb and absurd. 1670 is just like that and maybe even a bit better. The show runners do not shy away from portraying polarising topics like casual racism and discrimination in a humorous way that first makes one laugh, but then find themselves in the show's characters and hopefully reflect a bit.
I also loved these nod to modern times they made (parking lots for horses, boat attendants telling the passengers about safety features etc.), they made us laugh every time. Hope Netflix doesn't close this one after a season or two like it loves to do.

First of all, the movie got me a lot of good laughs, especially in the beginning, where Brits get into all kinds of awkward situations and troubles in an Eastern-Europe country. I absolutely love the stereotypical depiction of locals, however they are too inhospitable and swear way too much -- people in Poland and Baltics usually are a lot more friendlier than the movie wants us to believe.
There are lots of really good jokes about the stereotypical eastern-European "love" of foreigners (means: you will most probably end up robbed, naked and find yourself in the middle of nowhere if you walk too far from city centre and trust locals too much), lots of funny moments flavoured with a good load of nonsense and stupidity.
I say, you should watch it. Well done, Lithuania.

I must say, I am not that average man who likes cars, racing and stuff. I always tend to drive carefully, follow the rules and keep the speed limit. But this movie.. it arouses something in me. A feeling from the childhood, when boys are watching these crazy cowboy sci-fi action movies and dream to become racers, astronauts, policemen and firefighters when they grow up.
This is not a movie about some race. This is a movie about people. About sportsmanship and respecting your contestant. About the fair play, the challenge, the fun of it all and about taking the risks.
'Rush' is thrilling from the very beginning to its very end and I was enjoying every second of this movie. Definitely a must-see.
