  • 50% good script , 50% "battlestar galactica" and ...100% bad

Well I must admit from the beginning that the idea, rather simple, it's not bad. It was done before , it will happen again as the commercial goes...But it smells from the beginning to the bitter end as..."Battlestar Galactica", in other words something real bad. Don't get me wrong, I love S.F. and good quality S.F. movies so that is why I can't tolerate low-bad-made quality shows and I must make a stand for it. I said "real bad" because "Battlestar Galactica" it's a pathetic attempt of a S.F. show, in fact it's not a show at all , it's just joke they want us to believe it could be taken for a T.V. show. The only changes are that the script this time is a better one (but with no gain whatsoever for the show) and that the no-name young-macho type actors are pathetic. They act so bad that if the show wouldn't be canceled you didn't remember them at all when the show would end. The only funny guy is the typical training Sargent. On the other hand, this script with some real good cast, a skilled director and with some polishing a bit here and there could've been a winner. Unless you are teenager and SF fan..don't waste your time on this. You will thank me later. One more thing...the person who decided to kill this show was , for sure, a wise one.

  • Avoid this movie at all cost!

The only question is what is Steven Baldwin doing in this so-called "movie".The acting is awful, the actors are lousy, the scientific explanations are hilarious, I give u a few examples: - At the ASI (a sort of NASA control) they said that communications are off ...but they were still able to talk to the shuttle.

    • At the ASI after a power break...the generators had to be started MANUALLY!!!...and as if that was not enough, the power stops because of storm EVEN if the internal generators were providing it!!!...and one guy says at one point: "we have to REBOOT the generators!" ...llooooooll.Who the hell wrote this stupid screenplay??? - The shuttle was on the dark side of the moon , so no communications at all(radio waves travels ONLY in straight line without a satellite to deflect them ), but they were able to speak with ground control!!! ...lloolll - The shuttle had the engine stopped and floated standing-still into space near the moon surface... even if everyone knows that moon HAS GRAVITY!!!...So basically you have 80.000 tons "hanging" in "thin air" by itself....loll - A meteor was approaching to the moon and nobody sees it until a few hours!!!...etc etc Awful... Seeing this film I remembered a replica in a "The 3rd rock from the sun" episode, where Tommy's ex-girlfriend is making a theater chronicle about a student representation of "My fair lady": "The rain in Spain caused the reviewer insane ...brain ...pains" loll

  • A great film with great Romanians actors

I remember I was a schoolboy when I saw it for the first time in my life and I still got that feeling ever time I have seen it again. The music theme still rings in my ears and that figure of King Michael walking towards the camera with that background starring the cherry flower of spring and that blue sky...It's a great movie with true great Romanians actors of all times.Every Romanian who sees that movie is identifying himself with the idea of independence, freedom (that is this movie is about)and with blood who Romanian people spellt in any era from 1 a.d towards nowaddays to keep the country FREE from foreign foes! It's such a pitty it didn't succeeded in winning the Oscar in that year, although it was nominated. It is , as I recollect, the only Romanian movie ,nominated for Academy Award EVER...
