This episode was paired w/Lawrence Block's "Zodiac" episode which were aired back to back in 1999 ,highly recommended ,both episodes should be intensely interesting to either "Zodiac" or "Dahlia" afficianados .Many reanactments & consulting w/experts in both of these cases including interviews w/ Zodiac experts Tom Voigt & Mike Butterfield .Also opens up some new insights into the Dahlia case including some intriguing new revelations involving this case .Joined w/ Block's sometimes enigmatic behaviour makes for an interesting view .Some interesting revelations here including Butterfield's "MT. Diablo" expose - I'll say no more .Amazed this has not been put on DVD .

After reading plenty of negative comments I fully believed this movie couldn't be as convoluted or poor as many of the posts were suggesting ,but alas after renting it Dec.27 ,(official release date), I was mighty disappointed. First off this movie is based on a fictionalized novel by James Ellroy ,which makes one wonder wasn't this tale unsavory & sensational enough without changing the real story ? I guess not. Now with the Black Dahlia as subject matter & Brian Depalma directing it should have been in the good to excellent range. Wrong again. Could be way off base here but I think they were going for a David Lynch feel ,& if that's the case it also failed miserably. Would have rated movie 1(awful), only for the look of the film which was it's only saving grace. Also I can't honestly remember Brian Depalma making a bad film (that I've seen) ,oh well ,first time for everything ! Proceed with caution.
