Oh no. The first was really good. This time they tried to do the same thing, but threw in some hysterical characters that absolutely no one asked for. Characters that are for a "modern audience" and "the message". Kendricks mostly looked plastic.
The only reason I give it a "2" instead of a "1" is that Blake Lively is looking gorgeous in various dresses here also. Another issue is all the mobile phone usage, which does not appear good on screen, no matter how they do it. I know it is an integral part of our society but they really should keep it to a medium, because it does not translate well to the big screen.
Anyhow: Do not waste your time on this one! Totally destroyed with "the message"

When I sat down to watch this, I knew absolutely nothing about it. The whole reason for writing this review is that now I have seen it and now I know more.
This is a B-movie, at best. Horribly long and boring. About a girl working as a stripper/hooker. Some reviews here say that is because she does that to make ends meet. Sure. People working at McDonalds or Walmart do it because they need to make ends meet. The girl in the movie could have worked there also, but opted for something far better paid. So no, it is not to make ends meet.
Anyhow: This film is so boring and so bad. And now I read that it received five Oscars. How is that humanly possible? Oscars obviously does not mean anything anymore. It is only a matter of time before they shut the whole thing down, I am sure, because no one cares no more.

The Lighthouse was sooo boring, albeit beautiful. But in Nosferatu Eggers manage to keep it beautiful while adding an interesting story, darkness and a bit of gore.
Now, I just love vampire and werewolf movies. They are few and, sadly, far apart. At least any good ones. But Nosferatu is really cool and they managed to make the vampire look really different from what is the usual, which I enjoyed.
It is dark and it is bloody. For me, they could have used even more blood. There is a little too much "woman in distress" for my liking. Give me more vampire stuff and less crying, please.
Lots of Romanian peasants and "of my forefathers". Good stuff!
Willem Dafoe is playing his favorite mad doctor character and does it beautifully.
Please, Mr Eggers, give us a werewolf movie next!!
