I just concluded watching this and came to the reviews to see which if any plot holes I questioned would be echoed here. I expected a fair amount of negative reviews; these movies have always been a mixed bag. HOWEVER The fact that the focus of so many negative reviews was the disdain for the political rhetoric, yet not for allll the plot holes, is somehow even more terrifying to me than the idea of this movie. Which frankly, I enjoyed a lot more than I anticipated. The Purge franchise has always been a source of morbid curiosity for me, and especially in recent times, it is chilling to see such a snapshot of an imminent future reality. Despite my ambivalence to the franchise, this one actually had heart. The goals were simple and relatable. It is not and shouldn't be a blueprint. It's a cautionary tale. So if you are not a narcissistic exclusivist who becomes uncomfortable when the concept of human decency dares to flirt with your beloved murder-party thirst, you may enjoy it.

Big CTA fan and I was excited for this since I saw the trailers in January. Lots of cool choreography I guess but the story is really lacking. Feel like it just relied on the jokes from the first one; very little new humor. I suppose I would suggest giving it a watch if you don't have much else in your queue, but don't have a high bar for the laughs. I've watched a lot of tv/movies this past year and I have to say most of the Netflix originals I saw with unknown casts and niche plots far surpassed this all-star effort. Sadly enough :-/

Only two episodes in. I was engaged right away. Well-written and well-acted BUT The score..... dumbs down and cheapens all of the above. Thought at first it might be a fluke bad choice, that I could overlook.. but the musical strikes continue to amass and it's bugging me soooooo much.
