  • Love it! Best Comedy I've Seen In Years!

I'm not typically one who loves comedies, but this movie is hilarious! It's packed full of slapstick humor and wise cracks, and I was giggling from beginning to end. It's also a nonstop adventure ride, and I was practically on the edge of my seat all through the film.

Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, and Gal Gabot were outstanding, as usual. Great acting, great directing, and a great story that I look forward to watching again!

  • Missing too many details

I would give this film a 6, but I'm bumping it up to a 7 simply because I love sci-fi and fantasy. First of all, I think that many people are giving this movie high ratings because it's one of the first major films that people are able to see in the theaters post-pandemic.

The acting was great, the cinematography was spectacular, the directing was superb, and the movie was good. But that's all it was for me; just good. My main disappointment while watching the film was that so many details were missing. There was so much that wasn't explained, and I felt like I had so many questions. For example, the hunter seekers can't see you if you stand still. This wasn't really implied in the film. Also, there was hardly any back-story on the Bene Gesserits. They're a spectacular group of mysterious women with strong powers, but we only see a couple of their talents. Many of the characters didn't have enough development. They seemed to appear and disappear throughout the film, many without explanation.

I felt that the main character was a bit young and wasn't sure of him at first, but I grew to really like him throughout the film. I realized that his age and youthful appearance will actually work perfectly as the next 2 films are released over the next several years, as we will see him age from a young man into an adult. The thing about this actor that won me over the most was when I saw his character's strong looks of determination and devotion. He's a good choice for the Duke's son, and I look forward to seeing more of that characters (and actor's) inner strengths come forth.

I'm a huge fan of Jason Mamoa, but I felt like he was too big of an actor for the role he was cast for. He's like a bright light of sunshine on a dark set, and he didn't fit with the crew. I felt that he did a great job with his role, but his big personality deserves the main spotlight in films, not a supporting actor role. (Sorry Jason - love you anyways!)

All in all, this is a good film, and I'll definitely watch it again. If you want more details about this story, I suggest you watch the original movie, plus the mini-series that was on the SyFy channel in 2000. Of course, you can also read the book.

  • A flawed film with flawless makeup! (LOL)

There are so many stupid mistakes in this film, but the worst one was that her makeup stayed flawless throughout the entire movie, even her lipstick. There are so many prop errors, like when something looks totally different after it cuts to a different scent. Worst of all, the actress didn't fit the roll at all. Terrible choice.
