Usually shows become boring when the dating happens with teens but this show is keeping it cute. I would love to see the characters in "I Love Lucy" tribute episode as I can so see Katie as Lucy and Ryan as Ricky. S2E9 just seemed to have that kind of moment when the espresso machine caught fire. The acting is stellar. Never really been a fan of Tiffany Amber Thiessan (most of her characters were not interesting), but she is terrific in this sitcom. The casting of her and Eddie Shin as the married parents really works. Each character brings an important element to the flow of the show including Hannah (she's a hoot).
About half of the dialogue was believable, the other half was cheesy or unrealistic. I like Lori Loughlin as an actress, but the character in this movie was written super shallow. The best part of the movie was the play by play of the cookie exchange.
While the idea of a simple gift could have made a wonderful plot line, either the director or the screenwriter(s) dropped the ball on this one. The main character was plunged too quickly from horrible selfish girl to loving girl, there is no real transition - it was too forced. After noticing that it was written by two guys, that explains a lot as there was no real sense of the depth in the lead character.
