I could understand why a lot of young people find this TV movie lame, but don't forget it was made 20 years ago and times have change. The movie is actually realistic on the going-ons that happen at some rehab centers; I have a sister that went through a similar ordeal (for an eating disorder) and what she described to me reminded me very much of this movie.
The story is about a teenage girl from an upper-class family named Susan, (portrayed wonderfully by Viveka Davis), who falls in with the wrong crowd and gets involved with drugs. The parents are blind to their daughter's drug abuse until she is involved in a car wreck causing the father to become suspicious of his daughter's behavior. Despite the mother's denial that their precious daughter would stoop to drugs, the father is finally convinced of his daughter's problems and firmly puts her in rehab. Susan puts up a fight and gives the counselors a rough time and even escapes, but eventually gets with the program, and father and daughter are reunited.
Yes, the movie is dated, but it's not horrible. It brings to light the evils of drug abuse involving teenagers and how it not only affects the user, but their entire family.

Well, I didn't choose wisely when I rented this movie. Yikes! Although the concept for the film had potential, the attempt failed miserable. The story is about a drug addict artist who wakes up from a drug induced stupor and finds his friend murdered. He doesn't know what happened and whether or not he's responsible. The police then investigate and interview all the cocaine snorting friends who last saw the man alive and think they may have a suspect, but there's a twist in this struggling plot. There were some familiar character-actor faces within the cast and even an appearance from former KISS guitarist Ace Frehley in a "vain" attempt to attract viewers to this sorry film I begrudgingly admit that I took the bait. What makes this film weak is it lacks stability and a strong storyline with good character development. The acting was amateurish and the dialog was lame that is if you could understand it through all the mumbling. If that wasn't enough, the poor quality of the film, due to the low budget, was quite apparent
for instance, the poor sound mix and jiggling camera made it seem like I was watching a home movie or a student film. To keep viewers awake or to continue watching, some sex and naked women were thrown in the mix for the guys. As for us ladies, there is nothing to hold our attention. In closing, unless you're like me, a KISS fan who wanted to see Ace in his first dramatic role, don't bother with this movie. I give it a generous 2.
Even though others warned me not to waste my time with this one, I was looking forward to watching this movie, but like I was warned I found this film to be not only very disappointing, but extremely boring! I rented this movie and what a waste of money it was -I wish I could get a refund!! Aside from being very dull and boring, there was no character development, the CGI made the movie too cartoonish, the gore put me to sleep, horrible acting, and the over all storyline was so lame and boring, I couldn't wait for the movie to end!! I'm both a horror movie fan and a David Wenham fan and even THAT couldn't save this movie for me. I can honestly and sincerely say, stay clear of this one and rent another movie.
