  • hey, this movie is funny!

I thought this movie was really funny and the characters, despite their ridiculousness were genuinely likable. Sure it wasn't exactly Oscar-bait or a what some might call a cinematic masterpiece, but it made me laugh dammit and laugh a lot. With all that's going on in the world these days, that's a precious and valuable commodity, and I don't think people should scorn it. I think one of the reasons this is the most popular film in theatres right now is that it's just plain funny and people like to have something to laugh at. While I liked Borat, which all the critics are apparently ga-ga for right now, I thought this movie was a lot funnier, had more plot, more gags per second and was less cruel to real people.

Look, if you're looking for the latest depressing Clint Eastwood directorial effort, this obviously isn't it, but if you're looking for some ridiculous silly humor, this is a great way to spend a few hours in my opinion

  • Excellent story, beautiful animation

I highly recommend this animated series. It is visually stunning with gorgeous lush backgrounds and excellent character animation. The way the characters move so fluidly through their different "bending" actions based on different martial arts styles is amazingly realized.

Best of all this show has terrific characters and a kick ass story that continues to develop from episode to episode. Aang is such a wonderful character, whose sweetness and innocence contrasts so well with the ruthless and cynical characters he comes into contact with. Prince Zuko is also a really fascinating character because he isn't just straight up bad, he is drawn with many shades of grey and is a very sympathetic "villian." (I hope he joins Aang and his friends' side in the end!) If you want a show with great great story-telling, interesting characters and beautiful animation this is it folks!

  • The opposite of Baldrick's trousers!

Holy crap this is so hysterical! Why aren't American comedies written like this? For anybody who thinks comedy has to be dumb-- there is more wit and intelligence in the six episodes of this series than in a shelf of novels! Hugh Laurie is a complete hoot. I couldn't believe it was the same guy as House! There are so many great lines and gags in this series you could watch each show dozens of times and still pick up on new things each time. Rowan Atkinson is hilarious as the verbose and put upon butler Edmund. This is my favorite of all the Blackadder series. And Tony Robinson is wonderful as ever as the somewhat obtuse heart of the series, "the oppressed mass" Baldrick. Some of my favorite lines: "When someone messes with a Wellington he really puts his foot in it" and Baldrick explaining how he got his name and cousin Macadder "the top kipper salesman" and homicidal swordsman from Scotland.
