  • Well done for a new upcoming director!

I just viewed "The Way Down" at the First Run Film Festival at NYU. At the festival, there was some good, there was some bad, and "The Way Down" ended up standing above all the other films I viewed. . It managed to entertain and be exciting, where most student films lack and it was all shot on an amazing location. The film felt completely professional, I see feature length films in theaters that don't feel up to par with this movie.

Although I give this movie so much praise in context of the festival, overall I felt wishing it was a little more original, something special but it wasn't. Great directing though. Nothing too unique but great.

In context with other student films 8/10 In normal context 7.8/10

    Well done.

  • professional but nothing new or special.

    Okay,

I just viewed "Exit" at the First Run Film Festival at NYU. First, let me say that the directing was pretty good, and the actual film was entertaining, but.... I don't think the movie was anything special. It was one of the more professional ones at the festival, but it also felt like some early 90's made for TV movie. I have no doubt this new upcoming director will earn a living in the entertainment business, it just might be in television. Having said that, for such a new director the film was done skillfully.

Overall, not in context of who made it:6/10 In context with other directors his age: 7.9/10

  • The best war movie BY FAR!

Taegukgi is the BEST war movie ever made. I have heard people comparing it to saving private ryan.. well you know what, I didn't like saving private ryan and I thought this was amazing. The only Korean movies I have seen other than this is Oldboy and A Tale of Two Sisters, all amazing movies. OKAY! Lets take a look here at this movie. What was the budget? $12,800,000. Lets take a look at "Saving Private Ryan" $70,000,000 hmmm is something wrong here?

Acting:10/10 The acting in this movie was flawless no one can complain about that.

    Plot:10/10 amazing

Special Effects 10/10 not one point in the movie that looks fake at all

    Sets: 10/10

    costumes 10/10

Cinematography-10/10 Amazing though a bit of the private ryan frame rate..

    Overall 10/10 FLAWLESS
