I really appreciate the rational people who took the time to appear in this and debunk the idiotic theories pit forth in this "documentary." As for the rest who offered their goofy theories, I say that time has revealed how foolish these opinions were and still are. Watch for entertainment but don't get sucked into the ignorant drivel of years ending in "7" etc.
Michael Shermer can always be counted on to insert common sense. The astronomers who appear are the real experts and the heroes of this production. Everyone supporting these silly ideas are selling books or have some other way of profiting off the gullible.

Combine a decent story, good acting, quite good special effects and camera work with a bad script and abysmal translation...the result is this movie. At a glance, this could be a modern Space: 1999. A lot of effort is put into the appearance of every scene. Considerable talent is on display in special effects. The visuals are gorgeous. Landscapes and ship are very good. Any fan of ScFi movies will approve. The trouble starts early and persists throughout. I surmise the plot from visuals but the details are simply lost in terrible translation. I don't know what their goal is, what the problem is, etc, and that was just the first episode. I'll forge on and see if it begins to make more sense.
Considering the fact that many storylines we're lifted from other States Trek material, several actors are very capable and special effects were at par or beyond for visual effects, this series should be a slam dunk with everyone. Instead we find ourselves in small sets with micro-political planetary concerns or sharing a cookout with the captain. The original series is about the human condition in a setting as big as it gets. Exploration. Wonder. Risk and loss. The fact that our beginnings do not determine where we end up. Our accomplishments are limited only by our imagination and our effort to achieve our goals. The writers of this season simply do not get that. Quit and start over. Or simply quit.
