Quick note: I've only watched the serial squatter episodes. While I felt an overall empathy for the victims - I was annoyed that there was no follow up for the woman who had this squatter living in her place for over 4(!) years before initiating eviction procedures. Like - seriously? Why was that? She sacrificed her pets to this dude? She was pretty awful and I felt she dealt with him so she could continue a relationship with him. This was never followed up on. I felt most empathy for her landlord who had to deal with her lack of judgment and failure to act.
This movie is really insulting to all true horror fans. Tropes galore. It's like they blended every D-list horror film and this what was shat out. James Wan should just stop and rest on his laurels. Because if is the kind of crap he'll continue to put out - he may as well retire.
One of the absolute best documentaries I've seen in a long while. It's gut wrenching and a must-see. Even though the events took place in 1971 they are just as relevant - maybe even more relevant - today.
