This is a bad B movie masquerading as a mockumentary. The porn documentary filmmaker in the movie has almost as much screen time and dialog as any other character. That completely destroyed any "documentary feel" that they may have wanted to create.
The fact that the film is not actually a mockumentary is the least of it's problems. The film is not funny. The film is not sexy. The film doesn't have anything insightful to say about the porn business. It's not even particularly salacious. While there's simulated sex, the amount of nudity is mild for an R rated film.
Someday, someone will make a good mockumentary about the porn industry. This is not it.

I thought I'd give this show a try after it was recommended by friends. The episodes I saw are from season two.
The only interesting character on the show is Jeff. I think I'd enjoy a show featuring just Jeff. The others seem to be cut from the same yuppie cloth. Also, Richard Coyle is the only actor in the ensemble who seems to understand how to act for television. The other performances would be just fine for the stage, but are way over-the-top for close TV shots.
Another thing becomes obvious in the close shots, this is the worst lit TV show since the 80's sitcoms. The actors are lit primarily from the rear giving them "Halo Hair" and putting their faces in shadow. You even see them casting shadows on each other.
The writing is as substantial as cotton candy. This show is supposed to be light comedy, but give me SOMETHING to chew on. I know I should take cue from the audience laugh-track, but I just can't find the humor most of the time. I'm definitely not a fan of Friends, but I can't see how the Coupling writing is superior as fans claim.
I recently watched the BBC's "I Am Not an Animal" and enjoyed it's dark, quirky humor. This is the type of clever writing and interesting characters I expect from modern Britcoms. However, Coupling is mostly bland with very little bite.
