Haters exist everywhere nowadays. Haters will hate this review only because I rated this movie an 8.
But it got my eyes in tears at some parts (like the first one). And that's what movies are for. To make you feel human.
Of course this movie would not be par with the first one. That's impossible, the first one was a masterpiece.
However, if you give a chance, and try not to compare both movies but just enjoy the verses, the acting, the wit of the characters, you will see that it is a good movie. It may even touch you.
I prefer to live in a world where I am able to watch and enjoy this sequel (even if it doesn't compare with the original), than living in a world with only the good memories of the original movie.

Ok, I get it that this is a wannabe cult movie. But the shaking camera (epileptics beware), the exceeding long scenes with nothing (like the first one when the father dances at the balcony with his back to the camera), and the people's faces out of frame (sometimes only part of the face is on screen) are too much even for a cult movie.
The movie has no message so they overused these techniques to cover the lack of substance.
If you dont sleep earlier, you will go through the movie trying to find clues to discover what is the intended message. Reaching the end and not finding any, you will either justify your loss of time by praising this movie as "original" or you will realize the farce. I am among the second group of people.

Jokes aside, while it was great to hear the songs I grew up loving (I'm 49), I felt a little disappointed about the script (dull) and some of the acting. They wasted what otherwise could be a great concept for a movie.
Don't get me wrong. The movie is ok, go and watch it, it deserves. Some movies were not born to be great but to be average, and that's ok, we watch them anyway, have a good time and then go eat something and sleep, forgetting them the next morning.
But... A movie about the Beatles songs should not be just average.
I stand to my first statement: the songs saved the movie.
