  • Perfect for those who like Summer Heights High!

This is school humour at its best. As a secondary teacher, this series rings so true to life, that at times, I can only cringe. Whilst there have been opinions about it's political incorrectness, and I'm not saying that it is actually politically correct, in fact, far from it. It is close to one of the most politically incorrect shows I have ever seen... but that's what makes it so endearing and an enjoyable show.

Mr. Gormsby (David McPhail) is an incredibly... shall we say... odd... teacher who strives to control a class of misfits. McPhail nails the character down so well that he (scarily) reminds me of an old maths teacher I had in my high school days.

I highly recommend this series to anyone who is in education, been in education or has had an education... and can take a joke in this increasingly PC world...

  • Not too bad!

I won tickets to an advance screening of this movie in Sydney.

The film is what you would expect from a typical movie version of a comic. Not seeing Spiderman 1 doesn't detract from the movie at all, though reading some of the comics does help. The film itself has some very awesome chase scenes, and as previously mentioned by MisterBling, the CG is quite good (though nothing when compared to The Matrix!)

It's a typical Marvel comic... with it's cheesy one liners (though not cheesy as ones found in The Punisher), predictable ending, and the heroes and villains doing the 'ultimate' battle. Oh, and who can forget the damsel in distress!

This is a no-brainer movie. Great for watching on a date... it's got everything. Romance, action, and, if you look hard enough... even a message to the kids (and scientists!)... I'd give it an 8/10... just because I've seen better... but it is worth checking out on the big screen!
