Six men, not bad men
really, merely scavengers, enter an abandoned mine in search of booty. While they are in the mine a cave-in occurs
leaving them alone in the darkness. Slowly, one by one, they disappear
as someone or something in the darkness stalks them.
"The Testament of Tom Jacoby" is an amazingly suspenseful story. It is a true piece of art. This is - by far - (up to this point) my favorite story that Edward Martin III has created. The timing is pure genius. The narration is wonderful and smooth. It heightens the suspense. The images are all amazing,
I will not explain much here, because I wouldn't want to ruin it for those who have not seen it. It is quite the site to see though. It feels like some kind of creepy fireside tale or a disturbing bedtime story.
Let us just put it this way, if Edward can make something this incredible with a very low budget the world better hold on tight.
This movie is included on the "Cosmic Horror Fun-Pak", a collection of short films put out by Guerilla Productions. The DVD also includes "Innsmouth Legacy" and a teaser trailer for a movie they are filming now called "Flesh of my Flesh". It is well worth the purchase.

A young woman, far from home, gets the call from her family to return to where she belongs. She must chose between her new family and her true family in this heart-wrenching tale. The story begins with a husband who comes home to find a very frightening "Dear John" letter.
This movie is a short film, made by Edward Martin III. It shows that you don't need a large budget to make an excellent Lovecraftian tale come to life on the screen. The story, based on one first told by H.P. Lovecraft, is beautifully adapted into screenplay format. It quickly draws you in and you feel easily attached to the characters.
Mad Martian, the actor who plays Craig, displays a thousand emotions on his face during his performance in Innsmouth Legacy. Emily Hayes, the actress who plays Katherine, shows quite a bit of promise portraying the woman whose heart is torn. The characters in this story are compelling and believable. The imagery and scenes used for the movie are both ideal and quite stunning at times. There are still new things I am picking up and I have seen it multiple times.
If you like H.P. Lovecraft this movie is not only a must see, but a must buy. The movie is on the "Cosmic Horror Fun-Pak", a collection of shorts done by Guerilla Productions. It is jam packed with special features.
Innsmouth legacy includes subtitles in: English, German, French, Italian, Spanish and Polish. There is a Behind the Scenes slideshow, which you can watch with or without commentary. There is information about the movie and the H.P. Lovecraft festival. Not to mention the fact that they include "Alternite Endings". That is a ton of special features for a short movie. It makes it great for multiple viewings. I have seen it over a dozen times myself now.
The "Cosmic Horror Fun-Pak" has many other short films. They are all quite good. I recommend this collection of shorts to anyone who enjoys Lovecraft, horror or the unusual.

OK, I have seen a lot of negative reviews on this movie. It made me leery of even seeing it. I work at a video store so I get to see movies before their street release date. There were a few naysayers at work, but I rented it anyway. This was a rental well spent. This is the first movie I have seen in some time that doesn't have swear words or sex in any form so it is OK for any age. If you are or ever were just a little bit geeky, Napoleon is the hero for you. This movie is much funnier to a gen-x'er. There are a lot of things that you won't "get" if you weren't a part of the 80's. All in all, I think that it is a great way to spend an evening. I am looking forward to seeing more from this writer/director.
