Two Worlds. One Hero. No Time. "Escape From Cluster Prime" is a 2005 TV movie made for the most underrated Nicktoon ever "My Life as a Teenage Robot". For a TV movie it was actually really enjoyable. The plot was rather predicable but that didn't really bother me since I don't watch these kind of cartoons for their story. The story is basically about Jenny(XJ9) accidentally teleporting herself to Cybertro...I mean Cluster Prime a robot paradise where she meets friends that she fits in with for a change. Meanwhile on Earth the Cluster forces have began an invasion to enslave humanity. That summary sucked I know. The main theme of this movie seems to be revolution and fighting the system.
In the movie I found many parts that where evidently influenced by Star Wars more specifically Return of the Jedi. On Earth the humans try to fight the robots without any technology similar to how the Ewoks fought the Stormtroopers with natural resources. This movie won't make you laugh every minute like a Ren & Stimpy cartoon but there are some hilarious sight gags in the film. However for a movie it doesn't feel any different then an average episode of the show minus the length. However like the show the animation is ace and the character models are great. It's really the side characters that make this film however. Jenny is great but my favourite characters in this film had to be Brad and his kid brother Tuck.
Overall I found "Escape From Cluster Prime" to be a really enjoyable movie. The characters are great, the voice acting is top notch, the art design is fantastic and it's just a really fun movie. It doesn't matter if you're watching it out of nostalgia like me or have never seen the show before this film is very well made and I would recommend it to anyone who likes a good cartoon movie.
