This was a bad representation of DID (disassociative identity disorder) It was declared a fake condition, that was only in use to manipulate people. And the alter that survives is a violent supremacist. Nice job. I've been hearing from my friends who are multiple how horrible this episode is, they hate it with good reason. I agree with them. This is a real mental condition that deserves a hell of a lot more respect than it got here.
It promotes a myth that people with multiple personalities are dangerous, and cause more people to shun them due to mistrust, because people will believe that kind of crap from a film like this. It should be burned, never to be seen again. End the stigma against DID!
I have the film, the book, a copy of the screen play, and now the audio book. I love this film with everything I have, and I've fallen in love with the city of New York and The Dakota as a result. Ira Levin did a fantastic job on the story. However, Son of Rosemary, the book sequel, made me so mad, the ending on that story is horrible and completely discounts this story. He should never have written the sequel.
