Wow! I really enjoyed this movie even though it deals with tough subject matter -- cyberbullying, social media obsession, online predators, suicide. The combination of strong acting, visuals, music, story and direction combine to create a feminist noir masterpiece! I really didn't know what to expect and enjoyed every twist and turn. Can't wait to see more by the Director Sarah Pirozek. (And also love that it was shot in the Woodstock, NY area.) We need more movies like this -- bold, powerful and feminist!
I'm not into gory splatter horror, so this was perfect. It's more like a slow burn thriller, with really good character depth and relationships. I thought it was really suspenseful with some good jump scares. I enjoyed the casting and it has a great score, too. Plus the story about scary stuff happening in an isolated setting is perfect for quarantine life!
Jowan Carbin's directorial debut has you locked in from the start. I saw this film premiere at the New Orleans Film Festival and could see the writer/director had a clear vision in the thriller genre. It hits hard with nerve-wracking tension and paranoia from the start, as we are taken on a bizarre and suspenseful journey to the underground. I don't want to give away too much of the story, but this is cutting-edge independent filmmaking. Really enjoyed this well-directed film with beautiful cinematography and a strong cast. There's so much garbage out there, so this was refreshing to see! Can't wait to see more from this talented director in the future!
