I watched the first season, & enjoyed it. The good points being the natural good vibe between Fraiser & Alan. It did feel like they were old buddies a long time ago. Also the nerdy jokes. The negative points of this show are that it felt like it had to live up to the success of the previous one, & I think that any old Frasier series fan would expect that without even watching the new one. Each episode felt most of the time like mini sketches in a theater. More overacting from most of the characters towards the final three episodes, especially Freddie's friends. Had this series been a stand-alone one, it would have been easier to watch it because of the nostalgia factor, which was very strong here. One of the many major factors that contributed to the old series, is Frasier's facial expressions. Here there was too little. The first & middle episodes had many good laughs & the new characters proved their place in this series by being nerdly & highly-educated funny, especially Alan. Eve's problem was her overacting with pronouncing words & facial expressions. Freddie was a bit arrogant, although he became quite likeable as the series went on. The older series tended to have several mini stories in each episode that rounded up at the end of the episode. Here, it wasn't the case, which wasn't loyal to the core of the original. I think that's why it felt a bit empty to me with the audience laughs and moving scenes. Is it a good show? Well I'd say slightly above average. The only thing keeping me away from deciding that it's a bad (doomed) show is that this series didn't have all of the original cast & still made it bad.
The dialog is so long, I can actually feel the boredom already before the movie reaches its half. I also lost the interest of the guys' goal after the first couple of attempts. A small portion of the jokes are funny, but the rest is plain cheesy. You can predict the movie's end already in the beginning. I think the movie is trying too hard to be like American Pie or Road trip, except the cast is kinda small, so it wouldn't work out anyway. I also think that Chris Klein is the only actor here carrying the movie - despite his long dialogues with his brother. Brenden Fehr's acting feels unnatural in a lot of segments of the movie. The only genuinely funny part og the movie is the short home videos shown throughout the movie. If you find short segments of the movie throughout the Internet, watch them, and that would save you from watching the whole thing.
